I can’t believe another year is over. This was an insane year for me. I finally found my place at college in APO, I grew a lot as a person, I lived abroad for four months in Germany, I went on a bunch of road trips, and I strengthened my friendships. This was the first year in a while that I was really satisfied about where I am in life and who I currently am. Even though 2015 was amazing, I’m sure 2016 can be just as amazing and I’m really looking forward to seeing what’s in store for me in this new year. I have a lot I want to accomplish in 2016 and I have found the best way to accomplish my goal are to write them down. This way I can actively think about what I want to accomplish and by putting them out in the world I feel at least a little bit like I’m being held accountable to accomplish them. I came up with 8 goals that I really want to focus on and I think it’s going to be a good amount that I can accomplish in the year.
Have a consistent exercise schedule: I have been really slacking since I got to college 2 and a half years ago on staying fit and I miss dancing so I have decided this is going to be the year that I finally take dance classes again. I plan on making fitness schedules and trying out fitness classes, and there most definitely will be posts along the way.
Work on worrying less: I’ve always been a worrier, but it seems like living in a foreign country this past year has made me into even more of a worrier. This is definitely stopping me from doing everything I want and it just makes me feel down a lot. I’m not sure how I’m going to tackle this yet, so if anyone has any ideas let me know.
Keep in touch with people: I am horrible at replying to emails and text messages and I have a tendency to get busy and then drift away from some people and then get to the point where I haven’t talked to them in months. I’m going to start by making a list of all the people I want to make sure I keep in my life and create ways for myself to somehow contact them each month. I’m also going to monitor myself to make sure I am replying to any messages I receive in a timely manner.
Get a good score on the LSAT and Apply to Law Schools: I have officially decided that I’m going to law school after I graduate in my bachelors which means it’s time to buckle down and study to take the LSAT this summer. I’m really excited though to be pursuing law and think it’s going to be a good fit. I hope to start a series on what I learn through this process.
Get a 4.0 during at least one of the semesters: Since starting college I wanted to have a 4.0 semester and I have yet to make that happen. I’m hoping to try out some new study habits and really commit to my classes this year so I can make this a reality. I have a series planned to go along with this, so stay tuned!
Post on blog once a week for the entire year: I have had this blog for about 2 and a half years now and I always blog for a few months and then take a few months off because life gets busy and this blog always takes the back burner. I’m determined to stick with this blog the whole year though and make it a priority.
Make it to 5,000 Pinterest followers: Pinterest is by far the best referral source for this blog and I really want to focus on growing my account. There’s a ton of blog posts out there that offer tips about this so I’m hoping to apply a lot of their advice. I’m currently at 2,749 so I have to almost double my followers in order to achieve this goal, but I like a challenge.
Start making money through this blog: As I watch my student loans gain interest I am quickly realizing that if I can bring in a little extra income a year that I won’t have to pay as much when I graduate. There are so many options for how I can do this, deciding what is the best for my blog is going to be hard. I do have one way though planned to launch in February that I’m really excited for.
