I absolutely adore this quote. I think it’s so true that we love to compare ourselves with others and say they are so much happier than us or they seem to have the perfect life when we are only seeing what they want us to see. I know personally I never really let people see the bad stuff I’m going through because I want to show them the highlight reel. There’s a reason we don’t see the behind the scenes during a theater production.
I think I’ve learned more about myself in the past three weeks of college then I have learned in the previous 18 years of my life combined. Right now this is way too accurate as I figure out who I am and what I want for my future because it’s not at all what I thought it would be.
This week eight of my friends and I are taking a road trip to Chicago. It’s our last big thing together before we all leave in a month, so while it will be an amazing time it will also be a reminder of the short time we have left. Although I am sad about leaving everything I know behind I also can’t help but be extremely excited for the future. These quotes that I chose are inspiration for me to follow my dreams and live the life I have always wanted. One of my favorite quotes I couldn’t find a picture of, but I wanted to still share with you guys so here it is.
“For what it’s worth: it’s never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit, start whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start all over again.” – Eric Roth, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button Screenplay (Fun Fact! F. Scott Fitzgerald is often misquoted as saying this because he wrote the short story The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.)
