The Binge List is made up of a few of my favorite movies and tv shows that are available for streaming and the purpose of it is to help you all figure out what to watch next. You can see past posts from the series here.
This week has just been a lazy week for me and I’ve had no motivation to do much of anything. I’m working all weekend and then through Tuesday, which means I actually have to get out of my pjs now lol. Before this though my week consisted of studying for the LSAT and watching TV shows. A new favorite of mine has been Community and this week I think I managed to binge through two seasons (oops).
I am absolutely obsessed with this show. The premise of it is this group of people from different walks of life end up at Greendale Community College and form a study group to pass Spanish 101. One of my favorite characters is Abed, the kind of weird dude of the group who is constantly breaking the fourth wall and hilarious in doing so. Donald Glover, my new obsession, is also in it and he plays Abed’s best friend who was a star Football player in high school and is now trying to figure out what comes next. Chevy Chase is also plays a student in the study group which was cool to see since he hasn’t been in anything I’ve seen in a while.
The coolest part of it though is they do each of their episodes in a different movie style or spoofing a movie style. There was a star wars themed episode done as a paintball fight, and episode done entirely in puppets, and my personal favorite, a christmas special episode where Abed searches for the meaning of Christmas done in the cartoon style of Frosty the Snowman. I love how it’s a sitcom, but at the same time more than a sitcom because it does something different than just the classic friends gathered around a table and going through life.
This one unfortunately isn’t available on Netflix, but what I ended up doing was getting a subscription to Hulu for a month so I could watch it. You can even sign up for a free two month trial of Hulu and give the show a try before you commit to the Hulu subscription. Trust me, it’s worth it. Season 6 is available for free on Yahoo which is pretty nice so you can cancel your subscription after the 5th.
What have you been bingeing lately?
